The Nuzhat & Hafeez Family Iqra Legacy Fund
A Lasting Gift of Knowledge

Dr. Nuzhat Hafeez devoted her life to spreading the light of knowledge — both sacred and secular — believing that true education elevates the soul and empowers communities. A trailblazer in every sense, she earned a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Montreal, served as a college instructor in chemistry and physics, led both high school and elementary schools as principal, and established Masjid Al-Salaam and Education Center in Burnaby, BC. She was a beloved teacher of Tajweed and Tafseer, a conference speaker, and a pioneer in Islamic education.

Her life was guided by a firm belief: that knowledge, when rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, leads not only to individual success but to collective upliftment. Her work was not just a career — it was a mission for the sake of Allah (SWT).

In her memory, the Nuzhat & Hafeez Family has established this Legacy Fund as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah — a continuous charity that will benefit generations of Muslim students. Through this fund, deserving students will receive interest-free educational support to pursue their academic and professional goals while staying grounded in their Islamic values.

By contributing to this fund, you help carry forward Dr. Nuzhat’s legacy — investing in young minds, nurturing future leaders, and fulfilling the prophetic command: “Iqra” — Read.
