For generations, Muslim communities across New England have believed deeply in the power of education. What began as small immigrant and convert communities in the 1950s has now grown into an estimated 180,000–250,000 Muslims throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. Today, tens of thousands of Muslim families across the region continue building institutions, businesses, schools, masajid, and communities rooted in faith, service, and opportunity.

This growth was shaped heavily by education.

Following the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, New England became home to Muslim students, physicians, engineers, scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs who came to study and build better futures for their families. Institutions such as Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston University, and Northeastern University became centers of opportunity and advancement for Muslims from around the world.

Today, Muslims across New England continue to make major contributions in medicine, engineering, education, transportation, technology, research, public service, and small business ownership. Muslim Student Associations exist across nearly every major university in the region, while Islamic schools, Quran programs, and educational nonprofits continue to expand year after year.

Education has become one of the defining characteristics of Muslim life in New England.

But with the rising cost of higher education, many students and families face enormous financial pressure and difficult decisions about how to pursue their academic goals.

That is why we are proud to launch the New England Education Fund with A Continuous Charity.

The New England Education Fund exists to invest in the next generation of students by providing educational support, mentorship, and long-term opportunities that strengthen our communities for generations to come. Through this effort, we hope to help students pursue college, graduate school, and professional careers without being crushed by financial barriers.

This is more than supporting one student.

It is an investment in future physicians who will care for our communities.
Future educators who will inspire the next generation.
Future engineers, nonprofit leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, and civic leaders who will reinvest their knowledge, leadership, and resources back into New England.
