An Enduring Sadaqah Jariyah Through A Continuous Charity
The Remembering Shahid Syed Legacy Fund was established in loving memory of Shahid Syed, the father of Faizan Syed—co-founder of A Continuous Charity, former Executive Director of CAIR in Missouri and Texas for over a decade, author, and lifelong servant of the community.
On December 27, 2024, Shahid Syed returned his soul to his Lord after a courageous battle with liver cancer. His life was not defined by titles or accolades, but by perseverance, humility, and honest work.
Like many young men, Shahid’s path was not linear. He explored wedding photography, raised chickens, assembled furniture, took on home remodeling projects, and worked countless construction jobs. Whatever the task, he approached it with sincerity and determination—doing the work with his own hands and trusting Allah with the outcome.
From a young age, Faizan Syed and his brother, Daniyal Syed, worked alongside their father on construction sites. Those long days taught lessons that shaped Faizan’s life and leadership:
there are no shortcuts in life; every detail matters; miss a nail or a screw, and the entire structure is weakened. These lessons—about integrity, responsibility, and building things the right way—became the foundation of Faizan’s work in advocacy, institution-building, and service to others.
To honor Shahid Syed’s life, his family established this Legacy Fund as an ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah—a charity that continues to give long after we are gone. This fund stands as a testament that everyday people, through sincerity and perseverance, can leave behind an impact greater than they ever imagined.
By supporting the Remembering Shahid Syed Legacy Fund, your donation helps transform lives through education and opportunity, while carrying forward the reward for Shahid Syed in the Hereafter.
“When a person dies, their deeds end except for three: ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.” — Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Muslim)
