The Sarwat Shamim Legacy Fund was established to honor a remarkable act of generosity that changed the course of one student’s life.

A Legacy of Generosity

When I was pursuing my education, my family stepped forward and provided me with the financial support I needed to continue my studies. After graduating, I was eager to repay the loan as an expression of my gratitude. However, the generous family member who had supported me refused to accept repayment and instead encouraged me to help someone else when I was able.

Alhamdulillah, Allah ﷻ has now blessed me with the ability to do exactly that.

Rather than allowing that kindness to end with me, I created the Sarwat Shamim Legacy Fund with A Continuous Charity (ACC) so that the same opportunity can be extended to future generations of students. This fund is named in honor of Sarwat Shamim, the beloved mother whose son made my education possible through his generosity. Her legacy of compassion and selflessness continues to live on through every student this fund supports.

Why This Fund Matters

Higher education has become increasingly expensive, forcing many talented Muslim students to choose between abandoning their dreams or taking interest-based (riba) student loans. Through this Legacy Fund, we can provide Qard Hasan (interest-free educational loans) that allow students to pursue their education while remaining true to their faith.

As students graduate and repay their loans, those funds are reinvested to help future students—creating a continuous cycle of giving, repayment, and opportunity that can benefit generations to come.
