Why do American Muslims Struggle for Power and Influence?
It’s a question we all ask.
The truth is simple — we don’t have enough Muslim students entering the fields that shape our society:
Law. Government. Journalism. Public Policy. Political Science. & Similar Fields.
These are the fields where policies are written, narratives are shaped, and justice is decided.
And yet, too few Muslims are represented in these spaces — the very spaces that impact our community every single day.
The Champions of Justice Fund
That’s why CAIR partnered with A Continuous Charity (ACC) to establish the Champions of Justice Fund, a powerful initiative to support Muslim students across the U.S. pursuing careers in fields that change the world.
Through riba-free, interest-free educational loans, this fund empowers students to enter universities and professions without compromising their faith, nurturing a generation of lawyers, journalists, policymakers, and public servants grounded in Islamic ethics and moral courage.
Guided by the Quran and Sunnah
Allah ﷻ reminds us in the Qur’an:
“O you who believe, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or your parents and relatives.”
(Surah An-Nisa 4:135)
And the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.”
(Reported in al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ)
Supporting these students is not just charity, it is an act of justice, a Sadaqah Jariyah that multiplies as they defend truth, represent Islam with integrity, and uplift the Ummah for generations to come.
