This fund is deeply personal. It was created by a family that once stood in those same shoes, a first-generation Afghan family who knows the challenges of starting over, navigating new worlds, and carrying the weight of dreams that once felt out of reach.

They have lived the truth that when life becomes difficult, it is the women who rise. They are the ones who hold families together, rebuild communities, and push forward when survival depends on strength and resolve.

At a time when women’s right to education is being stripped away in many parts of the world, this fund stands as an act of balance, a deliberate effort to tilt the scales back toward equality, access, and empowerment. It is a quiet but powerful response to oppression, a belief that when you invest in a girl’s education, you free her.

Through Qard Hasan (interest-free, riba-free) educational loans, The Aminy Legacy Fund will empower young Muslim women to pursue higher education with dignity, without the burden of interest that displeases Allah ﷻ.

Allah ﷻ reminds us in the Qur’an: “Who is it that will loan Allah a goodly loan so that He may multiply it for him many times over?” Surah Al-Baqarah (2:245)

The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a person dies, all their deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.” Sahih Muslim
