The Ridah Siddiqui Medical Education Fund

A Legacy of Compassion, Knowledge, and Continuous Charity

The Ridah Siddiqui Medical Education Fund was established to honor the life, legacy, and vision of our beloved sister Ridah Akheel Siddiqui, whose sincerity, compassion, and quiet strength continue to uplift everyone who knew her. Ridah was a medical student at UT Southwestern and a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied Neuroscience and Nutrition. She was an integral part of the Austin Muslim community, founding the Longhorn Muslim Network and serving tirelessly at Nueces Mosque and UT MSA.

Whether she was mentoring students, organizing community programs, or welcoming others with warmth and grace, Ridah had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and supported.

At the heart of her journey in medicine was a profound intention: to make her life a form of sadaqah jariyah — a continuous charity expressed through healing, research, education, and service to humanity. She viewed medicine as a sacred trust rooted in compassion, humility, and devotion to Allah.
Ridah held tightly to her deen, carried a sincere niyyah to pursue the Alimah program, and remained deeply committed to advancing medical education.

She often said,
“I do not seek to take a seat for myself; I strive to create opportunities for those around me.”

This fund carries that mission forward.

Supporting the Future of Muslim Women in Medicine

The Ridah Siddiqui Medical Education Fund places special emphasis on supporting Muslim female medical students, recognizing Ridah’s own journey through demanding academic pathways and her heartfelt desire to uplift women pursuing rigorous professional fields. She saw how many gifted and passionate young Muslim women struggled against financial, social, and systemic barriers — and she dreamed of removing those obstacles so they could rise with confidence and community support.

While the fund prioritizes female students, it is not exclusive.
If a Muslim male student is in true financial need, he may also be considered — reflecting Ridah’s belief that anyone striving to learn, grow, and serve others deserves a chance.

A Living Legacy of Knowledge and Good Deeds

Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:
“Whoever saves one life, it is as if they have saved all of humanity.” (Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:32)

Ridah lived her life in pursuit of all three. Through this fund, her impact continues.
