The Tampa Muslim Community is thrilled to announce that it has partnered with A Continuous Charity (ACC) to make a lasting impact on their community through the creation of the “Tampa Community Educational Partnership Fund (TCEPF)” in collaboration with ACC.
Why We Created This Fund
This Fund aims to invest in the higher education of local Muslim students allowing them to pursue their educational dreams. Due to the rising cost of education many students are threatened by predatory, prohibitively exploitive interest-based loans to purse their education. As Muslims, we are reminded of the importance of seeking knowledge. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim” (Ibn Majah).
By providing interest-free loans through this fund, we aim to remove these barriers and ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed without the burden of interest-based debt, which is prohibited in Islam.
Inspired by Faith
Our faith teaches us the value of charity and helping those in need. The Quran beautifully illustrates this, stating, “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts into seven ears; in every ear are a hundred grains.” (Quran 2:261). By supporting the TCEPF, we are planting seeds for the future, empowering our youth, and strengthening our community.
The Role of A Continuous Charity
For over a decade, A Continuous Charity as a national charity has awarded Muslim students with community-funded, interest-free educational loans. ACC has awarded several students in the Tampa area and we are excited to support this fund to help generations of future students.
