My name is Uzair and I’m excited to share something dear to me. As a former graduate student, I know the weight of educational costs. Thankfully, an interest-free loan eased my financial strain and taught me the value of giving back. Motivated by this, I teamed up with A Continuous Charity (ACC), the first Muslim charity in the U.S. awarding students with community-funded, interest-free educational loans. Together, we’ve started the SMS Legacy Fund, aimed at more than just financial aid—it’s about nurturing a community that values education, empowerment, and ongoing support.
This fund supports students facing financial barriers by providing interest-free loans, in alignment with Islamic lending principles.
Here’s the process:
- Application: Students apply through ACC for educational loans.
- Qualified Students: ACC will then match highly qualified students with this Legacy Fund.
- Repayment and Recycling: Awardees will repay their loans on allowing their contributions to assist future students, sustaining a cycle of giving.
